The Combined Cadet Force Contingent (CCF) at Calday Grange Grammar School has an illustrious history dating back to 1916, when the first Officers’ Training Corps unit was established. Over the years, the CCF has evolved into a vibrant organisation comprising three dynamic sections: the Royal Naval Section, the Army Section, and the Royal Air Force Section. Each cadet proudly dons the uniform of their respective parent service, provided at no cost.
The CCF’s mission is to ignite leadership potential in cadets, instilling discipline, camaraderie, impeccable manners, and specialised knowledge relevant to their chosen sections. Far from being a mere recruitment tool for the armed forces or a ‘mini-army’, the CCF is a youth organisation that embodies military discipline and pride. Importantly, cadets are under no obligation to enlist in His Majesty’s Forces as they grow older.

Annual Subscription
There is an annual subscription fee of £80 per cadet, payable during the autumn term. This contribution supports the delivery of a varied programme of activities, including weekly parades and selected camps, courses and adventurous training opportunities.
The Contingent parades every Thursday during term time from 16:00 to 18:00. Cadets are expected to attend every parade unless there is a valid reason for their absence.
A range of additional training days, weekends, camps and courses is also offered throughout the year. Some of these activities carry an additional charge to cover the costs incurred by the Contingent. Cadets are strongly encouraged to take advantage of these opportunities, as regular participation helps them develop their knowledge, practical skills, confidence and leadership while supporting their progression throughout their cadet career.
