A Proud Moment for Our Senior Cadets

We’re proud to announce that 10 of our senior cadets have recently completed and passed the nationally recognised First Aid at Work (FAW) qualification—a significant milestone in their cadet journey and a real credit to their leadership potential.

Delivered in-house by our CCF staff, the intensive course covered a wide range of essential skills including CPR, AED use, treating major bleeds, fractures, burns, unconscious casualties, and more. It’s the same qualification required in many workplaces, giving cadets both practical knowledge and a major boost to their future career and volunteering pathways.

Over the course of three challenging days, cadets demonstrated not only technical ability but also calm under pressure, teamwork, and strong decision-making—skills that reflect everything the CCF stands for.

Captain McGinn, who led the course, said:
“These cadets really rose to the challenge. The First Aid at Work qualification is no small feat, and they approached it with professionalism and maturity. They’re now equipped to be calm, confident first responders in any environment.”

This achievement means these cadets are now certified to deliver first aid support at training exercises, fieldcraft events, and camps—making them invaluable assets to the contingent and excellent role models for younger cadets.

Congratulations again to all 10 cadets who took part—you’ve set a high standard for others to follow!
