Over the weekend, three teams representing the Royal Navy, Army, and RAF sections of Calday CCF traveled to Safety Central at Lymm Fire Station to compete in the Regional First Aid Competition.
Facing stiff competition from across the region, our cadets demonstrated outstanding practical skills, effective communication, and calm, decisive action under pressure—bringing home medals across the board!
Guest Teams Competition Success
Both the RAF and Royal Navy sections entered teams into the Guest Teams category, putting their emergency response training to the test in a series of challenging practical scenarios:
- 🥈 RAF Section: Secured Silver
- 🥉 Royal Navy Section: Claimed Bronze
Both teams delivered fantastic performances, showcasing the depth of lifesaving knowledge being built across our contingent.
Army Section Crowned Regional Champions
In the main CCF(A) competition, the Army Section delivered a standout performance to secure Gold and take the regional title!
What makes this victory even more remarkable is the level of qualification in the team: only two cadets were trained to First Aid at Work (FAW) standards, with the remainder holding Youth First Aid (YFA) qualifications. Going toe-to-toe with experienced competition and finishing top of the leaderboard highlights their immense dedication, discipline, and teamwork.
Looking Ahead to Nationals
By securing 1st place in the CCF(A) event, the Army Section has earned its spot at the National First Aid Competition this coming November.
Congratulations to all the cadets who represented Calday CCF so brilliantly over the weekend, and best of luck to our Army team as they prepare for the national stage!
