Seventy new Year 9 recruits took part in a CCF induction day at Inskip Cadet Centre, developing teamwork, confidence, and leadership skills.

The day began with an early start, as the recruits departed school at 0630 to arrive in time for breakfast at the centre. Once fuelled up, they took part in a full programme of round-robin activities, giving everyone the chance to try a variety of tasks and challenges. These included team-building exercises, problem-solving tasks, and practical cadet skills designed to encourage leadership, communication, and resilience.

One recruit said, “I wasn’t sure what to expect, but the activities were so much fun and I learned a lot about working with my team.” Another added, “It was great to meet everyone and feel part of the cadets straight away.”

Lunch provided a welcome break, and the recruits enjoyed catching up with their peers and reflecting on the morning’s activities. In the afternoon, the challenges continued, with everyone fully engaged and demonstrating great enthusiasm and determination. Instructors commented on the recruits’ positive attitudes, with one noting, “They really embraced every task and showed great teamwork throughout the day.”

By the end of the day, the recruits were tired but proud, having had their first taste of cadet life and gained valuable experience in teamwork and leadership.

Contingent Commander, Bosworth, said:
“It was fantastic to see our new recruits engaging so enthusiastically in their first cadet experience. Their energy, teamwork, and willingness to learn were outstanding, and I have no doubt they will go on to achieve great things in the CCF.”

Well done to all our new recruits for their energy, commitment, and teamwork throughout the day! 💪
