Last night, the Contingent came together for its first Awards Night in a number of years — a fantastic occasion that brought all three sections together to celebrate the achievements, commitment and development of our cadets.
The evening struck a perfect balance between formal recognition and an enjoyable atmosphere, with plenty of laughter shared alongside the presentations. A wide range of certificates were awarded to cadets who have demonstrated consistent effort, resilience and determination throughout the training year. In addition, a number of trophies were presented to recognise outstanding performance, including Best Cadet awards across each section, as well as awards for leadership, skill and overall contribution to the Contingent.
We were delighted to be joined by the Headteacher and Head of Governors, whose presence added real significance to the evening. They kindly supported the presentations, awarding certificates, trophies and promotions, and taking the time to recognise the achievements of our cadets. Their continued support of the CCF is greatly appreciated and plays an important role in enabling opportunities such as this.
Promotions were also an important part of the evening, recognising those cadets who have shown the leadership qualities, commitment and initiative required to take the next step within the Contingent. It was particularly pleasing to see cadets rewarded for their hard work and development over time.
A key moment of the evening was the opportunity to formally say farewell to our Year 13 cadets. As they now move on to begin their A Levels and take their next steps beyond school, we reflected on the significant contribution they have made to the Contingent during their time with us. They have set a strong example to younger cadets through their leadership, attitude and dedication. We thank them for everything they have given and wish them every success in their future endeavours.
Overall, the evening was a great success and a fitting way to recognise the hard work and achievements of our cadets, while reinforcing the strong sense of community within the Contingent.
