On 16th August, a contingent of our RAF cadets attended a residential training camp at RAF Halton. Over the course of the week, they engaged in a demanding and varied programme of activities designed to strengthen their practical skills, resilience, and teamwork.

The cadets undertook a wide range of challenges, including arms drill, STEM workshops, archery, low and high ropes, DCCT, fieldcraft, and live range training. Each activity provided opportunities for personal growth, requiring focus, adaptability, and determination. The cadets responded with energy and commitment, achieving excellent results across the training.

A particular highlight of the camp was the way in which cadets displayed strong leadership qualities. Many took the initiative to guide and support their peers, demonstrating responsibility and teamwork under pressure. These experiences allowed them to develop confidence in decision-making and to practise leading others in challenging situations—key skills that will serve them well in future cadet and personal endeavours.

Equally commendable was the exemplary standard of behaviour throughout the week. The cadets conducted themselves with maturity, discipline, and respect, earning praise for their positive attitude and consistent good conduct. Their professionalism both on and off the training programme reflected great credit on themselves and on the school.

By the end of the camp, a number of cadets had achieved successful training passes, while all had gained valuable experience, enhanced skills, and memories of a rewarding and enjoyable week. Their achievements at RAF Halton underline not only their individual dedication but also the strength of the RAF section as a whole.
